PLOT
In the mid-19th century, in the picturesque, untamed mountains of Tyrol, a young girl grows up to challenge the unspoken laws of tradition.
Wally, the daughter of the valley’s most powerful farmer, is a true free spirit. She loves nature, climbing, and adventure — all the things society tells her she should never do. And the one thing she’s forbidden? To fall in love with a man she can’t have. When her father forces her into an arranged marriage, Wally’s struggle becomes a battle on both sides: against her family’s expectations and her own heart. Rejected, abandoned, and despised, she refuses to be broken. Like the eagle she once rescued from a cliffside nest as a child, she rises — stronger than ever.
What begins as a simple peasant tale transforms into a timeless story of a woman fighting for love, dignity, and freedom in a world where women are told they cannot soar. “Geierwally” is not your traditional film. Based on the classic novel by Wilhermine von Hillern, this new adaptation brings true, unfiltered elements to the story for the first time.
It’s a visually stunning, emotionally stirring journey about self-determination, courage, and reconciliation — set to a powerful soundtrack, breathtaking imagery, and a heart that beats with conviction.
